Stora Enso prepares listing of its Swedish forest assets business
Recent work|November 14, 2025
Roschier advises Stora Enso on its announced intention to list its Swedish forest assets business on Nasdaq Stockholm and Nasdaq Helsinki during the first half of 2027.
The planned structure, supported by the company’s largest shareholders Solidium Oy and FAM AB, represents one of the most significant corporate steps in Stora Enso’s recent history and introduces a new chapter for the company’s Swedish forest business.
Stora Enso plans to separate the business through a statutory cross-border demerger, creating a new Swedish company to be listed immediately after the completion of the demerger. The initiative aims to sharpen strategic focus, simplify the group structure, and unlock long-term value for shareholders. The newly listed entity is intended to become Europe’s largest pure-play forest company, while Stora Enso continues to strengthen its position in renewable materials and packaging.
Roschier’s core team comprised Jouni Salmi, Christoffer Benninge, Mika Ohtonen, Petri Avikainen, Andreas Bussman, Ami Paanajärvi, Jenny Welander Wadström, Wiljami Siitonen, Mira Ahonen, Richard Katzman, Jaakko Laitinen, Johan Walhbom, Sampsa Myllymäki, Janne Nurminen, Sofia Andersson and Maiju Klemola.
