Roschier advised the founders in setting up The American Song Contest
The American Song Contest, an American tv-show based on the Eurovision Song Contest format, has aired on American broadcasting giant NBC this spring. The original format is owned by the European Broadcasting Union. Roschier advised the founders of American Song Contest Inc. in setting this up.
“We do some of the largest deals ever made in Sweden, but being a part of taking the world’s largest entertainment format to the US is not something we do every day, so it was really fun”, says Partner Jens Bengtsson.
“It is an intellectual property and media lawyer’s dream to be a part of this type of matter, and it has been extremely rewarding to work with so many talented and dedicated people on all sides of the deal to make this happen”, adds Partner Björn Johansson Heigis.
Hosted by artists Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg, the televised singing competition is based on the Eurovision Song Contest format by having song writing and performer competitors represent their home state or territory in the US and compete for the title of Best Original Song.
Our advisory team comprised Jens Bengtsson and Björn Johansson Heigis.
