Nokia opens new state-of-the-art R&D and manufacturing campus in Oulu

Roschier advised Nokia Oyj with legal matters relating to the development project in Oulu, where Nokia developed and constructed a new state-of-the-art R&D and manufacturing campus.

Construction for Nokia’s new campus on the Linnanmaa-Ritaharju plot in Oulu, Finland began in the second half of 2022, with the first employees moving into the facility in the first half of 2025. 

The new campus will enable Nokia’s continuous innovation and development at the forefront of 5G and 6G technologies. Around 3,000 Nokia experts will work on-site together with leading universities, start-ups, and technology partners in Oulu to design, test and deliver the secure networks of tomorrow. The innovative energy center alongside the campus plays an important role in ensuring clean energy solutions for electricity, heating, and cooling production.

Roschier advised Nokia throughout all stages of the project in financing agreements, turnkey delivery agreements of the construction project of the campus, and service agreements for clean energy solutions for the campus.
