Özge is a Helsinki-based Senior Associate, and a barrister and solicitor qualified in Canada (British Columbia). She advises clients in arbitration proceedings in various jurisdictions and industries.

Özge has experience in international arbitrations seated in Helsinki, Stockholm, Geneva, Vancouver and Toronto, under institutional rules such as ICC and VanIAC as well as ad hoc, and under various applicable laws. She has managed and advised on claims related to major energy and infrastructure projects, mining, finance, as well as shareholders’ rights and remedies.

Prior to joining Roschier, Özge represented clients as lead counsel at all levels of court in British Columbia, in commercial arbitrations, and before administrative tribunals.

Work highlights

Özge Yazar’s experience includes advising:

  • Finnish nuclear company Fennovoima in five parallel ICC arbitrations against Rosatom group companies arising as a result of the termination of an EPC Contract for the turnkey delivery of the Hanhikivi-1 nuclear power plant, with claims valued at several billion euros;
  • A leading multinational engineering and manufacturing company in an ICC arbitration against a global service provider.
