Roschier launches two new practice areas to support clients in a complex risk landscape

Firm news|June 3, 2025

Roschier has launched two new practice areas: Contentious Corporate, Insolvency & Corporate Crime and Sanctions & Trade Compliance. The expansion reflects the firm’s strategic commitment to helping clients manage heightened regulatory, financial and reputational risks in today’s evolving business environment.

The Contentious Corporate, Insolvency & Corporate Crime practice brings together Roschier’s long-standing expertise in high-stakes commercial disputes, cross-border insolvency, investigations and corporate misconduct matters. The Sanctions & Trade Compliance practice addresses the rapidly growing need for legal guidance on international sanctions, export controls and internal compliance processes – an area that has become business-critical considering recent geopolitical developments.

“These practice areas respond directly to what we’re seeing in the market,” says Paula Airas, Partner and Head of both new practices. “Clients are facing a growing range of complex challenges – whether it’s navigating complex corporate situations, cross-border restructurings, responding to corporate crime allegations, or staying compliant with fast-changing sanctions regimes. Our goal is to offer clear, strategic guidance in situations where the stakes are high and there is no room for error.”

The new teams will work closely with Roschier’s market-leading dispute resolution, compliance and transactional specialists, and fully leverage on the broad sector specific expertise, ensuring that clients benefit from seamless advice across all aspects of their business. The move also underscores the firm’s role as a trusted advisor to Nordic and international companies operating under increased scrutiny and regulatory pressure.

“By formalizing these offerings, we’re strengthening our ability to serve as a true partner to our clients in times of crisis, change and opportunity,” Paula says adds. “We’re proud to support them with the insight, experience and integrity they’ve come to expect from Roschier.”
