Roschier launches dedicated Data Centers practice amid growing investment in digital infrastructure
Insights|June 9, 2026
The accelerating demand for AI, cloud services and digital infrastructure is transforming the data center market across Europe and the Nordics. To meet increasing client demand and support the growing complexity of projects in the sector, Roschier has established a dedicated Data Centers practice, bringing together specialists across real estate, M&A, financing, construction, energy, regulatory and technology-related matters.
The launch coincides with the Datacloud Global Congress in Cannes, the leading international event for the data center industry. Bringing together investors, hyperscalers, developers, operators, energy companies and advisers from around the world, the conference serves as a key forum for discussing the trends shaping the future of digital infrastructure, from AI-driven demand and energy availability to financing and regulation.
Several members of Roschier’s Data Centers practice, including partners Lisa Hybbinette and Antti-Jussi Partanen, attended this year’s event.
“The data center sector is evolving at an exceptional pace, driven by developments in AI, energy infrastructure and digitalization. For us, it is important to be present where these industry discussions take place and where many of the key investment decisions are being shaped. Datacloud provides a unique opportunity to engage directly with clients, investors and industry leaders from around the world, helping us stay at the forefront of developments that matter to our clients,” Lisa says.
“The Nordics are rapidly solidifying their position among Europe’s data center powerhouses, with tailwinds provided by abundant and affordable renewable energy, favorable development conditions, including available land, grid capacity and predictable permitting frameworks, and accelerating demand from AI workloads. We’re seeing a broad mix of capital entering the space, including international infrastructure funds, real estate investors, energy players and a variety of major lenders, all converging around the same theme. With our one-stop-shop legal offering covering all relevant practice areas, we have been privileged to assist our clients in some of the largest and most complex assignments in the data center sector,” Antti-Jussi continues.
The new practice is designed to support clients throughout the entire lifecycle of data center projects, from site acquisition, permitting and construction to financing, transactions and operational matters. Drawing on Roschier’s extensive experience advising on some of the region’s most significant data center developments, the practice combines sector-specific insight with multidisciplinary legal expertise.
As the Nordics continue to attract significant international investment in digital infrastructure, Roschier’s dedicated Data Centers practice strengthens the firm’s ability to help clients navigate the opportunities and challenges in one of the economy’s fastest-growing sectors.
