House of Many Voices Cannes: navigating uncertainty, together

Events|March 20, 2026

At a time when geopolitical tension, economic volatility and shifting market conditions shape everyday decision-making, uncertainty has become constant rather than an exception.

The Cannes edition of House of Many Voices, hosted alongside MIPIM, brought together leaders from the real estate and investment community for focused discussions, including how to navigate uncertainty. In a smaller and more intimate setting than previous editions, the conversation moved beyond short-term market outlooks to examine how global developments, collaboration and long-term thinking shape the conditions for growth.

Uncertainty as a shared operating environment

One of the strongest threads throughout the evening was how present the world around us felt in the discussion. Sanna-Mari Jäntti of Miltton Group addressed geopolitical developments, with a particular focus on the United States , and how broader societal and economic behavior often matters more than individual political actors.

In sectors sensitive to interest rates and financing conditions, such as real estate, these dynamics quickly become tangible. Global developments ripple through valuations, portfolios and investment decisions, making uncertainty an operational reality rather than an abstract risk.

Built by Many in practice

Alongside geopolitics, the evening returned to the theme Built by Many, how nothing is ever built by one person or one organization, explored through the speakers’ own experiences of building over time.

Ilkka Tomperi of CapMan Real Estate and Simon de Château of Alma Property Partners reflected on how little of lasting value is created alone. Drawing on their respective journeys, they emphasized the importance of finding the right colleagues, partners and co-investors, and of creating structures that allow organizations to scale through shared responsibility.

Together, the three perspectives complemented one another. Where geopolitics set the external conditions, the experiences shared by Tomperi and de Château highlighted what it takes to build resilience within those conditions.

“What stayed with me was how present the world around us was in the discussions. Geopolitics, especially the US and the Middle East, were always there in the background. All speakers also spoke very clearly about how much of what they’ve built has been done in collaboration,” says Lisa Hybbinette, Partner, Real Estate at Roschier.

In this sense, Built by Many emerged not as a slogan, but as a practical insight grounded in real-world experience.

Why these conversations matter now

When outcomes are unclear, shared reference points become more valuable. Conversations that allow leaders to compare perspectives, test assumptions and acknowledge common challenges can support more considered decision-making.

Despite global turbulence, the discussion also touched on cautious optimism. Several participants pointed to Europe and the Nordic countries as potential safe havens, where trust, stability and long-term thinking may increasingly be seen as strengths.

A reflection of Roschier today

By creating space for dialogue on issues that extend beyond individual transactions, Roschier signals an ambition to engage with the wider forces shaping its clients’ reality.

Whether in Cannes, Stockholm or Helsinki, House of Many Voices continues to function as a platform for opening conversations rather than closing them.
