Gisela Knuts speaker at the Finnish Bar Association’s annual Attorney’s Day

The legal business must become more diverse and gender equality must be promoted. According to a survey carried out by the Finnish Bar Association and presented by Gisela Knuts, Head of Roschier's Helsinki office, one in four female lawyers employed by a law firm is regularly thinking of changing her job, as opposed to one in ten of male lawyers.

Gisela Knuts chairs the Finnish Bar Association’s Diversity & Inclusion task force, and she presented the Bar Association’s equality survey at the Attorney’s day gathering on Friday.

The Finnish Bar Association calls for changes to even out the gap between male and female attorneys with a family, by tackling the differences in career advancement possibilities, as well as raising awareness about unconscious bias.

The survey was carried out in 2019.
