Sofia Lyyra is a Helsinki-based Senior Associate specialized in energy & infrastructure projects and industrial investments, with a particular interest in green transition industrial projects. Sofia has extensive experience in permitting processes and appeal proceedings, especially in the field of conventional environmental and water law. Sofia also frequently advises clients in transactions involving renewable energy portfolios or individual projects. Sofia joined Roschier in 2024.

Work highlights

Sofia Lyyra’s experience includes advising:

  • Finnish Battery Chemicals Oy, a subsidiary of the Finnish Minerals Group, a state-owned company, in the permitting processes of the CAM plant project of their portfolio company Easpring Finland New Materials Oy;
  • CNGR Finland Oy in the environmental and water permitting processes for a pCAM plant in Hamina, Finland;
  • PVO-Vesivoima Oy in a process concerning changes to the company’s fisheries obligations under the Finnish Water Act;
  • OX2 in the development and permitting of offshore wind farm projects;
  • Kemijoki in the development and permitting of pumped storage hydropower plants;
  • Kemijoki in a process concerning changes to the company’s fisheries obligations under the Finnish Water Act; and
  • Meridiam SAS in its investment in a Finnish green ammonia project development company Green North Energy Oy.
