Kaisa Leppänen is a Helsinki-based Senior Associate. She works with a wide range of dispute resolution related assignments, specializing in arbitration, litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
Kaisa has been involved in disputes relating to e.g., energy and infrastructure, post-M&A, shareholder agreements, IT and telecom, guarantees as well as cartel damages actions. Her experience covers arbitrations conducted under various institutional arbitration rules, in different places of arbitration and under a variety of substantive laws. In addition, Kaisa has solid experience in white-collar crime. She also regularly advises clients on various contractual and regulatory matters.
Prior to joining Roschier in 2016, Kaisa worked as an associate in the M&A and Private Equity team of another law firm. Kaisa has also completed a one-year court training at the District Court of Itä-Uusimaa in 2020. These experiences further strengthen her ability to approach disputes with a broad commercial and procedural perspective.

Kaisa Leppänen’s experience includes advising:
- Finnish nuclear company Fennovoima in five parallel ICC arbitrations against Rosatom group companies arising as a result of the termination of an EPC Contract for the turnkey delivery of the Hanhikivi-1 nuclear power plant, with claims valued at several billion euros;
- A multinational technology provider in three parallel SCC, DIA (Danish Arbitration Institute) and OCC (Oslo Chamber of Commerce) arbitrations over the delivery of a network platform, with claims valued in excess of EUR 100 million;
- Claimant in multiple concurrent FAI arbitrations concerning cartel damages claims valued at USD 800 million;
- The owner in relation to a major ICC arbitration over delays and disruption on a significant power plant project, including negotiations leading to a global settlement between the parties;
- Domestic and international industrial and private equity companies in shareholder and post-M&A disputes, including matters relating to redemption pricing, drag-along rights, earn-out entitlements, purchase price adjustments, and other contractual issues;
- Company management and individuals in white-collar proceedings, including cases involving e.g., allegations of fraud and bribery;
- Clients in various complex regulatory and contractual matters, including responses to formal requests from the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (KKV); and
- Clients in M&A and private equity transactions.
