Why corporates should create space for dialogue: Roschier’s stage at Almedalen
Insights|April 25, 2025
Today’s global challenges – from security threats to sustainability – call for open, inclusive dialogue. For Roschier, a Nordic law firm, contributing to these conversations is a natural extension of its role in society alongside its legal work.
This summer, Roschier will host a stage at Almedalsveckan as a subevent of the House of Many Voices – a recurring initiative dedicated to fostering inclusive conversations on timely societal topics.
Our partners take over the stage
As part of our broader commitment to contributing to society, this event offers a platform to highlight the work of partner organizations whose efforts bring valuable perspectives to public conversation. This year, we are pleased to give our stage at Almedalsveckan to:
- Rädda Barnen (Save the Children Sweden) defends the rights and well-being of children, both in Sweden and globally. They advocate for policy change, support vulnerable families, and respond to crises affecting children.
- John Nurminen Foundation works to protect the Baltic Sea and preserve its cultural heritage. Their science-driven initiatives aim to reduce eutrophication and increase public awareness around marine conservation.
- Prinsparets Stiftelse (The Prince Couple’s Foundation) addresses exclusion among children and youth by promoting mental health, digital literacy, and inclusive education throughout Sweden.
- Reach for Change supports social entrepreneurs who create innovative solutions to improve the lives of children and youth. Their incubator model helps develop sustainable and impactful ventures in several countries.
- CSR Sweden is a business network that promotes responsible corporate practices. It facilitates knowledge-sharing on sustainability, human rights, and transparency across Swedish industry.
- Transparency International Sweden works to prevent corruption and promote accountability through advocacy, public engagement, and research in both the private and public sectors.
- Beredskapslyftet (Swedish Resilience Movement) mobilizes untapped resources across society to improve crisis preparedness. Their collaborative efforts have supported everything from pandemic response to national security readiness.
The need for open discussion
“Creating a space for thoughtful and respectful conversation is more important now than ever,” says Roschier’s Managing Partner, Johan Sidklev. “By offering our stage to organizations working on such diverse and pressing issues, we help amplify voices that deserve to be heard.”
This approach reflects a broader philosophy. Roschier’s commitment to dialogue has taken many forms – from legal commentary on policy developments to public webinars on international relations. At its core is a belief that law firms can and should contribute to societal dialogue in a meaningful way.
“Even though our profession often involves navigating conflict, lawyers are uniquely positioned to foster dialogue that is inclusive, constructive, and reflective,” Johan adds. “That’s what House of Many Voices is all about.”
A role beyond business
Roschier’s participation at Almedalen is not about visibility for its own sake. It reflects a deeper belief that businesses must engage with the context in which they operate – and play a constructive role in shaping it.
“Our goal isn’t just to provide excellent legal advice,” Johan notes. “It’s also to listen, participate, and contribute to the societies we serve. Creating platforms for open discussion is one meaningful way to do that.”
As Almedalsveckan approaches, and with a new edition of House of Many Voices on the horizon in Helsinki, Roschier continues to invest in collaboration, transparency, and inclusive dialogue. When diverse voices come together, the conversation grows richer – and so does our collective understanding.
