Roschier Insights Webinar: New winds in the field of competition law

The last couple of months have been turbulent due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Roschier’s competition law experts in Finland invite clients to a webinar about the current situation on Tuesday 26 May.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on how competition law is applied. Competition authorities have already signaled flexibility for necessary cooperation between competitors. At the same time, companies are warned against illegal exploitation of the crisis.

The enforcement of merger control is also affected by the crisis, and delays and obstacles are to be expected in the notification process. Recently, the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority has, for the first time, been able to block a merger, now finding itself in an in-depth review of yet another challenging consolidation.

Last year, before the pandemic, several other interesting developments occurred in the field of competition law. In particular, we will look at changes proposed to the Competition Act in the draft Government Bill, which is currently subject to consultation.

The webinar will be in Finnish and for clients, by invitation only.
