Local expertise, global reach: The value of the Lex Mundi network
Insights|August 19, 2026
Cross-border matters require coordinated legal advice informed by local laws, markets, and business practices. As the exclusive Finnish member of Lex Mundi, Roschier works with leading independent law firms worldwide to provide clients with this combination of international reach and local expertise.
Lex Mundi brings together more than 23,000 lawyers with experience in over 125 countries. Roschier has been its exclusive Finnish member since Lex Mundi was founded in the late 1980s. Because the network selects one leading firm in each jurisdiction, clients gain local insight and international support through a single trusted connection.
The network also brings professionals together to share knowledge and strengthen collaboration. In June, Roschier put this into practice by hosting a ‘Lex Mundi Professional Day’ for colleagues from across the network.
Roschier Partner Mikko Manner helps shape the network’s development as a member of both the Lex Mundi Board of Directors and its Executive Committee. He joined the Board in 2023 and the Executive Committee in 2024.
“Lex Mundi ensures that clients receive seamless, high-quality legal services from leading independent law firms worldwide. The network gives clients access to local expertise and cultural understanding, which are essential when navigating complex legal issues across different jurisdictions,” Mikko says.
A network in action
Another example of the network’s benefits is the recent visit by Liisa Kaseorg, Marketing and Communications Specialist at COBALT Estonia. During her time at Roschier, Liisa exchanged ideas with colleagues, gained insight into our ways of working, and shared perspectives from the Estonian market.
Liisa shares some of her key takeaways from the visit:
“Marketing in the legal sector has its own specific challenges, so exchanging ideas and best practices with colleagues from other firms is especially valuable. During my visit, what really stood out to me was how similar many of our challenges and priorities are. Even though our firms differ in age, size and market, we are often asking the same questions.
Some of the processes we are currently developing at COBALT are already well established at Roschier. Seeing these in practice gave me reassurance that we are focusing on the right things. It was also a good reminder that building well-established ways of working takes time.
I came away with many practical ideas, but also with the reminder that development never really stops. Even when you are a market leader, it does not mean relying only on established ways of working. Roschier’s marketing team has a clear focus on continuing to develop new approaches and challenge some of the traditional stereotypes associated with law firms. That continuous drive to improve was particularly inspiring.”
Professional exchanges like this are an example of the broad range of benefits the network offers, from sharing knowledge and fresh perspectives to building stronger relationships across markets. These connections also support closer collaboration and a better understanding of how colleagues work in different jurisdictions.
