Niina Hänninen is a Helsinki-based Senior Associate specialized in EU and competition law. She advises clients in all areas of competition law including horizontal and vertical cooperation, merger control as well as dominance related issues. In addition, Niina has strong experience in cartel and state aid investigations both on a national and EU level.
Prior to joining Roschier, Niina worked as a Senior Research Officer at the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority. She has also worked at the DG Competition of the European Commission and for an Australian law firm in Sydney. Niina has also worked and gained valuable in-house experience as a seconded Competition Counsel at Nokia Corporation and Stora Enso.
In addition to her LL.M. degree, Niina holds a post-graduate degree in Economics for Competition Law from the University of King’s College London.
Niina Hänninen’s experience includes advising:

- Bonnier in the SEK 9.2 billion sale of Bonnier Broadcasting to Telia Company;
- Konecranes in its acquisition of the Material Handling & Port Solutions (MHPS) business from Terex;
- In substantial self-assessment reviews concerning horizontal and vertical contractual frameworks in various different industries.
