Roschier receives ISO 14001 environmental certification

Roschier increases its focus on the environment by implementing an industry-standard environmental management system. Roschier is the only law firm in the Nordic countries to obtain the ISO 14001:2004 environmental certificate for all of its offices. The certification demonstrates that the firm is working in a structured and targeted manner throughout the organization in order to improve its environmental performance.

The ISO 14001:2004 environmental certificate has been granted to Roschier’s Helsinki, Vaasa and Stockholm offices. This firm-wide certification was received in December 2011 following careful scrutiny of the firm’s environmental performance and processes. The ISO 14001 certification is an environmental management standard for business, government and society, which is widely recognized internationally. Roschier is the first law firm in Finland and among the first in Sweden to have received the certificate.

“We are proud to receive the ISO certification as it gives us the tools and guidelines to evaluate our work towards more environmentally-friendly operations. At the same time, it also demonstrates that the work we have done so far has been in the right direction. The lawyers of our Green Economy & Energy practice have been advising clients on matters relating to sustainable development for some years now, and it is gratifying to see that the same mindset is also present in our own organization,” says Roschier’s managing partner Rainer Hilli.

The recent certification is the result of a continuous process to improve the environmental work of the firm. The aim is to reduce the impact of Roschier’s day-to-day operations on the environment.
