The appointment of Johannes Ahti confirms Roschier's strength in the area of finance and restructuring and broadens the firm's client offering in high-end finance transactions.
Roschier's Nordic Finance & Restructuring practice has strengthened its capabilities in advising clients on complex, high-end finance transactions by appointing Johannes Ahti as a Partner. Ahti is well known in the market, and has extensive experience advising on domestic and cross-border finance and debt capital markets transactions, specializing in leveraged finance, high yield bond issues and investment grade lending. He joins Roschier in the beginning of November from the law firm Borenius in Helsinki, where he is a Partner in the Banking & Finance practice.
"We are delighted to welcome Johannes to Roschier and our team," says Johan Häger, Partner and Head of the firm's market-leading Finance & Restructuring practice. "The financial markets are undergoing continuous change, making financing transactions more complex than ever and resulting in an increased demand for innovative solutions and more specialist advice. With Johannes in our team, we are ensuring continuity and securing our position as the strategic discussion partner and first choice for clients in the finance sector."
"There continues to be a growing interest among companies to diversify their financing and explore new financial instruments," says Helena Viita, Partner in the Finance & Restructuring practice in Helsinki. "As advisors, we need to be on top of trends and developments in the market in order to provide our clients with the most up-to-date advice in finance and restructuring related matters. Johannes' profile and expertise in the area of corporate and leveraged finance will complement our team very well and I look forward to welcoming him to our team."
"During my almost 25 years with the firm, I have seen our finance practice develop from a small team led by one partner to its current size and leading position in the Nordic market," says Gunnar Westerlund, Head of the Finance & Restructuring practice in Helsinki. "I am extremely proud of what we have achieved for our clients and it is reassuring that the work will continue on the same path with the firm's new generation of finance partners," he concludes.
Roschier's cross-border Finance & Restructuring practice is one of the largest providers of legal advice in this area. The team of 35 lawyers is known for its solution-driven approach and high-quality service in complex matters, having recently advised Carnegie on a securitization for Lendify, Guy Hands on a leveraged finance for the acquisition of McDonalds, and the lenders on the financing of the construction and development of the Tripla city centre and mall in Helsinki. The team is successfully driving development in new areas and, among other things, has played a key role in the development of the Nordic high yield bond and project finance markets.
